I began to show an interest in music as young child taking my first steps in the direction of my father a playing guitar. His '51 Silvertone Barney Kessell arch top continues to be a great playing & sounding guitar today.
I began making recordings at an early age with my older brother's cassette tape recorder. I would usually record a pretend army battle using various household items for sound effects. At other times I would make recordings of my favorite songs that were playing on the radio or that I high jacked from one of my brothers many LPs.
By the time I had graduated from elementary school my father had given me a two track Lafayette reel-to-reel tape recorder. I had formed my first band by then with my best friend Billy on the drums and we had written some songs, mainly because we couldn't play anyone else's yet. I still have those early recordings from my Lafayette recorder.

I moved to Manhattan in 1993 and began playing in venues such as CBGB's, The Bitter End, Mercury Lounge and Kenny's Castaways while studying improvisational jazz guitar with Ted Mackler, A Professor at The New School who also gave private instruction. I began to develop a keen interest in recording and the science of sound during this time, and began working in studios around the city.
An amazing internship officially started my recording career at the old Neve room of the Hit Factory, at the time called Big House Recording Studio, located in the historic Wurlitzer Building in Times Square.
From there I undertook a three year live in position at Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, Virginia where I had the privilege of engineering and producing recordings alongside some very talented musicians, engineers and award winning producers.
Upon returning to Manhattan from the "Heart of the Confederacy", I began working for Tuff City Music Group as head audio engineer & product manager. At Tuff City I was responsible for transfering and restoring vintage formats from as early as the 1940's up through the 1990's, further developing my interest in recording and the science of sound.

In addition to mixing and mastering titles for release, I cataloged and restored rare recordings at Tuff City which spanned a range of artists including Ray Charles, Joe Hunter, Johnnie Mae Matthews and the Hi Rhythm Section. Many of these recordings lacked the exposure they deserved when released which was the impitus to begin PlusNine Productions.
I formed PlusNine Productions along with trusted friend David Fogelman. Our modest beginnings were building a catalog of live recordings by local musicians in area clubs. Since 2003 we have collected some tasty recording equipment and some killer music.
